Welcome 2012!

Last night we rang in the New Year with the neighborhood NoPo crew! It was a rager complete with 13 little kids and their parents. We were only slightly outnumbered and we held our own! It was a blast, one that ended at 9PM on the dot, but a blast nonetheless. It is always best to ring in the New Year surrounded by friends and family and chaos and fire. Yep, a little fireworks a la John Carleton rounded out the night perfectly. Some good food, good friends, a bit of bad pop culture via the NYC NYE show, some fire works, and a lot of sparkles, kiddo squeals, and tons of FUN! I was impressed with our kids, and all of them really. No major meltdowns and they got to bed by 10PM. I think they enjoyed their friends as much as we enjoyed ours.

And now the kids are out in the yard jumping on the trampoline with John while I start my first ever turkey in the oven. That's all set now and I'm off for some jumping fun in the cold sun. Welcoming the New Year with a few of my favorite things, some honest resolutions, a bit of cooking, and a date with my girls on the schedule for tonight with a showing of Polar Express at the I-MAX. Not bad.

Happy 2012!!! Share those resolutions of yours. I love reading other people's new year's resolutions. :) Hope to make it to the West Coast in 2012 (one of my resolutions) and a trip to Portland will definitely be included!
