Jonah is becoming so so so sweet! He loves his sisters and as he gets older he is able to show them that love with more and more control! I am convinced that much of his jumping on them, tackling them, wrestling with them, stealing their toys, and other general tomfoolery, which sometimes ends in tears and pain from the big-little brother who is stronger than he knows, has been all out of love. He is always trying to get their attention. I tell them over and over "he just wants to play with you!", "He loves you!". I know that it can be tough to be the little sibling because I am the little sibling too. I am also well aware of the fact that it can be tough to be the big sibling and that is why I swoon when they show love like they did tonight, when they snuggle and kiss and hug!
Tonight Jonah showed a very matured display of sibling love. He snuggled with Mayzie. We were finishing stories and bed time in the girls room, which is often a difficult transition time for the boy (from their room to his room, I think he wants to stay, but wants to go to his own bed too), when Mayzie reached out and held his hand. I could see Jonah getting mad, as though she was trying to control him (he doesn't like to be controlled...very stubborn!). I told him, "sissy wants to snuggle with you" and he changed his entire attitude. He crawled right into bed with her and snuggled right up close with his arms around her. She held the blanket open and they were truly the cutest little snuggle lump in her bed! I was grinning from ear to ear. I didn't think it would last and was frightened that it might end badly (as Jonah sometimes gets rough or wild when you least expect it), but it was simply beautiful! When he was done snuggling with Mayzie I asked him if he wanted to kiss Addie and he climbed right up to the top bunk to give her a smooch and a nice gentle good night hug too.
He is truly my little lover man. He is going to be a heart breaker, if he's not a nose breaker first. He has so much love, but really is much much bigger and stronger than he even knows. Like his dad, he is a little baby bull!
I love love love it when my kids snuggle. Just hearing them say snuggle makes me smile outrageously. I want to giggle! I love it when they show how they love each other. It is heart warming and show stopping for me. They can pretty much get anything they want from me when they are sweet to each other. Luckily they have no idea this is the case so all their displays of affections are true and natural...for now. Sooooo sweet!
