A Moment in our Hood

I am sure I've written about how blessed we are to live where we live and how wonderful our neighborhood (our Hood) is! We love love love the people who live here! It is awesome to run into the people you love the most just by happen stance. I love the people love across the street next door and around each corner! The adults are cool and the kids are loves. I am in love with them all. Seriously!

Today I had a special moment in the hood. It happens that I often see my midwife riding her bike down the street or up the street to or from dropping off her oldest son at school (not the same school we go to, but one just 3 blocks down the other direction). Her son happens to be my very most favorite swim student ever. I love him lots. She now has 3 boys and has delivered my two sons for me. One of those deliveries was done while prego with her third. There are many many cool things about this family and our relationship. But by far the coolest thing is running into them just outside my door on foggy North Portland mornings on the way to school. The coolest coolest thing is the way she looks at my son (Jonah) like he is huge wondering when he grew so much when we happen to see each other every few weeks at least, and when I look at her son wondering when he got so big and why he isn't wearing his swim suit! I miss teaching him. A lot.

And all of this while Jonah is talking a mile a minute to tell Laurie that he can run super fast! SO perfect!

And I agree. He is huge. And I too look at him and wonder when it happened! When did he get so big?!?! He looks like a pre-schooler, less and less like a toddler. He is now, more three than he is two!

As if on cue, Jonah decided to poop on his potty for the first time while I was writing this post! CRAZY!

Yeah Jonah! Forrest is SO big too all of the sudden. Maybe he and Jonah can have a little phone convo. about the "coolness" of pooping in the potty, Forrest needs the motivation I think. BTW, LOVE the little care package! Forrest wanted to put the shirt on right away, FIRST time he has ever shown an interest in clothes, usually he would rather be without. He was all excited about his "new shirt" Thankyou thankyou thankyou!!!
